Hema-Test provide a fast and easy presumptive blood test. Each Hema-Test consists of a stiff plastic strip with an absorption patch on one end that contains the test reagents. The test is based upon the pseudo-peroxidase action of hemoglobin which catalyzes the reaction of Tetramethyl-benzedine and organic peroxide. The strip will turn a dark blue color when the end is dipped into a moistened stain that contains blood.
