Designed for Latent Print Applications Fume Adsorbers use activated carbon to adsorb organic orders and noxious vapors. Solvent vapors are trapped in the capillary like channels of the carbon filter while clean air is circulated into the laboratory. Fume adsorbers require no ducting to the outside and are completely portable. Fume Adsorbers fit easily on existing bench tops and are available in two sizes. Basic 47 (4’) and 70 (6’) fume hoods are ideal for general chemical requirements and work well for individual workstations. These hoods are factory furnished with 3/16"” thick tempered safety glass counterbalanced sash. The interior and exterior are constructed of glacier white, epoxy coated, 16 gauge steel. The right side fixture panel is designed to accept up to three service fixtures, one electrical receptacle, and a guardian air monitor. The WS-6 Downflow Workstation is a stand alone, ductless unit that protects workers from powders or fumes. This unit’s open design allows for closed inspection of samples while maintaining a high level of operator protection. Particles or fumes are drawn downward through the stainless steel work surface and contaminants are removed by a series of filters. After the fumes or powders are filtered, the clean air is returned to the room. Design features include an aluminum frame with a powder coated exterior for corrosion resistance. The work surface is stainless steel and is easily removable for routine cleaning. A pressure switch for indicating when filters need replacement is standard. HEPA filters are recommended if your application includes powders or particles. If you are working with chemicals, we offer a variety of carbon filter options. The Air Science Technologies DWS workstation has been specifically designed to provide a small bench mounted unit with unrestricted access. Unique downflow airflow pattern allows the forensic scientist to work in close proximity over the piece of evidence being examined. DWS workstations are available in a variety of configurations for use in chemical processing and or fingerprint powders. An economical light duty hood suited for many applications. It’s inward flow protects the operator and contains hazardous or noxious fumes, vapors, or powders when fitted with the proper filter. Smaller than most hoods, the design requires less space than most ventilated enclosures. The XVS features 4” thick tempered safety glass front sash, sides and top offering excellent visibility, light and protection. Glass provides better fire, scratch, and corrosion resistance than acrylic. Requires exhaust transition adapter, and FilterMate™ portable exhauster or remote blower and ducting to the outside. Aura models are the most well constructed and durable ductless hoods on the market today. The base section is made from high grade aluminum with an acrylic sash and side panels. The head section (fan, filter and microprocessor control housing) is encased in a sturdy aluminum frame with a powder coated finish. These materials were chosen for both strength and stability. All units consist of powder coated aluminum head and base section with fluorescent lighting, chemically resistant acrylic panels, removable fiberglass spill tray and an electrostatically charged pre-filter. ”L” models are available for customers who do not require the added features of the Advanced Filter Monitoring System. The ”L” model features visual alarms to notify users of low airflow conditions. Each unit is equipped with a test port for manual filter saturation testing.
