Acid Fuchsin, also known as Hungarian Red, is an excellent stain for the enhancement of bloody fingerprints or footwear impressions. Enhanced impression can be made to fluoresce with an alternate light source or laser. Stained impressions can be lifted with a white gelatin lifter, excited at 515-560 nm and photographed with a red barrier filter.
