O-Phthaldehyde is a ninhydrin substitute which reacts with the amino acids in the fingerprint residues and produces a fluorescent product that renders the latent print pattern visible.

Phloxine B is a particularly good protein stain when used to develop bloody latents on dark colored or multi-colored backgrounds. Phloxine B is a reddish-orange colored stain.
