Acid Fuchsin (Hungarian Red) Acid Fuchsin also known as Hungarian Red, is an excellent stain for the enhancement of bloody fingerprints or footwear impressions. Enhanced impression can be caused to fluoresce with an alternate light source or laser. Stained impressions can be lifted with a white gelatin lifter, excited at 515-560nm and photographed with a red barrier filter.

Acid Yellow 7 Acid Yellow 7 stain is one of the newer and more effective fluorescent stains used to enhance bloody footwear and fingerprint impressions on nonporous surfaces. Staining reveals a yellowish colored print which fluoresces under blue-green light (400-490nm). When lifted with a white gelatin lifter the impression will often reveal enhanced fluorescence.
